  • Since moving to California, Chris has formed a company, West Coast Preps, where he serves as President. He and the team will launch West Coast Preps on July 30, a website dedicated to providing comprehensive and up-to-the-minute coverage of high school athletics in the Bay Area. West Coast Preps can be followed on social media @westcoastpreps_.
  • Prior to launching West Coast Preps, Chris gained significant experience in the media industry while working with multiple outlets. He worked as a Part-Time Production Assistant with NBC Sports Bay Area & California, was a News/Sports Reporter for the Laredo Morning Times along the border in South Texas and was a Sports Reporter for Star Local Media in Plano, Texas.
  • He earned a degree in Journalism and a minor in Sport Management at West Virginia University in December 2018 after graduating in three and a half years.
  • His career goal is to cover professional or college sports. He has followed many of the Bay Area’s top reporters for years, and the way they cover sports has really taught and inspired him to follow their career paths.
  • Chris has actively been involved in sports media since founding his Northern California high school sports website http://prepsbythebay.com in 2012.  He was responsible for game coverage, photography, website articles and human-interest stories, as well as procuring advertising dollars for funding.
  • He worked for the student newspaper at West Virginia University, The Daily Athenaeum (http://www.thedaonline.com), since the beginning of his freshman year.  Chris covered football, men’s basketball, baseball, golf and men’s soccer. He was the Managing Editor for the newspaper his junior year, Sports Editor his sophomore year and Associate Sports Editor during the spring semester of his freshman year.  In his final semester, he covered football and men’s basketball.
  • As Managing Editor, Chris was responsible for all newspaper content, editing of articles and overseeing photography.
  • Chris traveled to numerous WVU sporting events, covering away football games, football bowl games, and the Big 12 and NCAA tournaments for basketball.
  • Chris was also an intern for West Virginia Illustrated (http://www.wvillustrated.com) for three years, writing articles for all major sports.
  • Chris was on the sports staff at the West Virginia University radio station, U92, co-hosting sports talk shows and providing live sports updates.
  • Chris has previously interned for NBC Sports Bay Area & California, WV Illustrated and WVU Athletics Video.
